One of the best lyricists alive will be swinging throuhg the 802 in the middle of the month: Stones Throw artist Homeboy Sandman. Opening support will be Chicago producer Brenmar and NYC underground fixture I Am Many, who -- if memory serves -- played the legendary and doomed Hip Hop in the Hills festival in 2006.

Oct. 19th: Black Milk Returns to Signal Kitchen

Once again Detroit's finest will be rocking Signal Kitchen with his live band, Nat Turner. Black Milk will be touring to support his new album, If There's a Hell Below. This show is 18+ and tickets are a paltry $12.

Sept 5th - RATKING at Signal Kitchen

This one snuck up on me: NYC rap crew RATKING -- who released a fucking stellar album recently -- will be playing the Art Hop 2014 party at Signal Kitchen, aka The Guys Who Brought Black Milk to Burlington. If you like your beats huge and violent, and your rappers really damn good, you will want to be onsite for this show. Which is free. FREE, DAUG. FREE.

Waka Flocka @ Arts Riot Commemorative Video
I was hoping for a Worldstar-ready highlight reel of all the fights and fuckery that went down that night, but this woozy and beautifully shot short clip does great justice to the absurdity of the whole experience. Enjoy.

Black Milk w/ Lynguistic Civlians @ Signal Kitchen

Fuck yeah, boys. One of Detroit's best is coming to Burlington -- and Detroit is one of the the best cities making hip hop in the world right now. Not only is Black Milk going to motherfucking destroy Signal Kitchen with a live band, but he's bringing along Quelle Chris to open up. If you're not up on that cat, you are in for a treat: he is borderline genius material and just getting started.
Also, Burlington's favorite party-rap crew Lynguistic Civilians is opening up, fresh off the release of their new album, Better Late Than Never.
