WORD!CRAFT-Experimental Art Rhymes-Valentine's Day

A traveling, monthly, participatory, spoken word/hip hop event for all ages! It will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14th at 242 MAIN in Burlington, VT from 7:30-10:30. Doors open and sign-ups at 7. This is a substance free event. This month’s theme is “Love”, so whatever that means to you, bring it in written and/or improvised verse. You can also just come to listen and support lyrical artists. There is a cover charge of $6 for this WORD!CRAFT (it's usually a free event!) Participants in the open mic get in free, let them know at the door. 

Also we have a special guest performing a set after the open mic at 9:45.Laura Lamb Brown-Lavoie a spoken word poet and farmer from Rhode Island will be performing as her deep winter alter ego, Lefthand Man! There will be a hip hop dance party to follow until 10:30!

We are thrilled to work with 242 Main for this event. They are the oldest all ages venue in the country! 30 years strong! It's so special to be a part of their amazing history! http://www.242main.org/about

 

We are also going to have Cworner Stwore performing with DJ Kanganade for the hip hop set! Also, Rubix from the Rhythm Riderz Crew will be around to breakdance during the dance party! Now you definitely can't miss this show! What a perfect date night! See you there and Peace!

WORD!CRAFT One Year Anniversary at Goddard College!

      

A traveling, monthly, participatory, spoken word/hip hop event for all ages! It will take place on Friday, January 30th at "The Pit" in the WGDR Radio Station at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT from 6:30-10. It will be aired live on the earwig radio program. If you can’t make it, tune into 91.1 FM, 91.7 FM, or stream online at http://www.wgdr.org/listen-live! This is an alcohol free event. This month’s theme is “Imagine”, so whatever that means to you, bring it in written and/or improvised verse. You can also just come to listen and support lyrical artists. This is a free event, but we do accept donations.

WORD!CRAFT at Another Way Community Center in Montpelier

Central Vermont come get you some WORD!CRAFT-Experimental Art Rhymes 

A traveling, monthly, participatory, spoken word/hip hop event for all ages! This is an alcohol free event. This month’s theme is “Winter Solstice”, so whatever that means to you, bring it in written and/or improvised verse. You can also just come to listen and support lyrical artists. WORD!CRAFT is a free event, but we do accept donations. There is a community meal at AnotherWay VT that starts at 5. This is also a grand opening event for a new greenhouse space at Another Way! There will be additional hip hop sets after the open mic as well.

It will take place on Friday, August 22nd at Wheelock Mountain Farm (from Route 16, take Gonyaw Rd. to the end and turn left onto West Wheelock Rd.) in Greensboro Bend, VT from 6:30-9 PM. This is an alcohol free event. This month’s theme is “Activism”, so whatever that means to you, bring it in written and/or improvised verse. You can also just come to listen and support lyrical artists. No admission charge, but we'll accept donations for Wheelock Mtn. Farm for all the cool things they do! The schedule for the night consist of:
6:30-7:00- Sign ups
7-8- Spoken word portion of the evening (in a cool stone building)
8-9- Hip Hop portion of the evening- (written pieces and freestyle cyphers with word play games)
