Radio-friendly college rap was a niche waiting to happen in Vermont, especially Burlington. Jacob Es has built a strong local following through UVM and high-profile gigs at Higher Ground (like opening for Mac Miller) and plans to take his act on the road for the first time this summer.
I like the fact Jacob Es plays up his local college roots instead of opting for a more generic rap persona. Hopefully we see some collaboration cuts with local heavyweights like The Aztext or Brutally Honest. Jacob's loose, party-heavy style would also go great on a track with Bless the Child.
